Tenure-track faculty position in Biological Chemistry : Daegu, South Korea

Kyungpook National University with 63 years’ history is one of the most prominent national universities in Korea. The University holds approximate 1,140 faculty members and 25,000 students, and the campus is located in Daegu metropolitan city, about 280 km south from a capital city of Seoul.
Department of Applied Biosciences in College of Agriculture and Life Science invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor, beginning fall semester 2009. The successful applicant will join a team of 40 full time and several adjunct faculty covering the areas of biochemistry, plant biology, molecular biology, genetics, botany, nutrition, food science, microbiology, physiology, crop science, entomology, pesticide science. We are seeking a biological chemist who could teach an undergraduate biochemistry course in English, as well as course in advanced enzymology in graduate school.
Qualifications This position is open to only persons with foreign citizenship. Responsibilities for tenure-track include teaching at least three courses per semester in English, conducting/publishing research, and assuming various administrative duties to support academic functions. Applicants must possess (i) at least near-native fluency in English and (ii) Ph.D. by the time of application.
Salary is ranged from $50,000 to 60,000 depending on qualifications and experience with a good benefits package. Position is open until filled, and review of application will begin in June 8. All applications will be held in strictest confidence.
