PhD. in Agricultural with substantial teaching at a recognized University and considerable research in Extension.

2.      AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

a.       Emerging Extension systems in tropical countries
Extension programming and Extension methods especially participatory approaches

b.      ICTs in Extension and Rural Development

c.       Farmer participatory approaches in agricultural research and Extension Rural sociology

3.      EXPERIENCE

a.       Familiarity with Information Communication technologies which are used for agriculture and agribusiness development

b.      Experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of specialization.

c.       Experience in working with Extension systems in the Caribbean.

d.      Experience in designing and preparing audio visual and print material for agricultural and rural audiences.

e.       Good track record of research and publications in refereed international journals.

f.       Experience in working with agricultural specialists in planning and conducting farmer participatory research.

g.      Experience in working with international and regional agencies.


4.      RESPONSIBILITIES

a.       Must assist in the vision and leadership of the University's Agricultural Extension programme.

b.      Must contribute significantly to teaching, research and curriculum development in Extension at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

c.       Conducting applied research in areas such as agricultural extension and other related fields.

d.      Supervision of research leading to MSc./MPhil/PhD.
